The start

Where Chantelle started

Chantelle Hall founded Crown & Texture, a UK haircare brand for textured hair. Her line is "Textures That Thrive", and her shop opens properly in early 2027.

Her customers find her on TikTok and Instagram, mostly on their phones. Before the shop opens, she wanted somewhere to send them so she could build a list of people ready to buy on day one.

Her old site was on Wix Studio, and it wasn't set up for that. She needed something live quickly that would collect signups properly and look as good as her brand.

The brief

What she needed

  • Live quickly, well before the full shop was ready.
  • Emails collected properly, with consent, so she can market to the list when she launches.
  • A premium look that matches her brand, designed for phones first.
  • Cheap to run while the business isn't selling yet.
  • Her email kept working the whole way through. Her domain also runs her Google business email, so switching the website over couldn't touch it.
The plan

A page now, a proper shop later

We started with a short call. Afterwards I gave Chantelle a printed two-page summary of what we'd talked about and what I recommended, so she had it all in one place.

My advice was to stop working around Wix. Instead, she'd get a dedicated early access page now, and a Shopify shop when she's ready to sell. I mapped out the whole project before building anything, from the page and the signups to the email platform, the domain switch and launch day.

Then I sent her a clear list of what I needed from her and a step-by-step plan, so she always knew what was happening next.

Someone joins on the early access page
They get
  • Their own Early Access number
  • A "You're on the list!" screen
  • A branded welcome email
Chantelle gets
  • Their details in her email platform
  • A backup copy of every signup
  • An email each time someone joins
The page

Built around her brand

I designed and built the page from scratch around Crown & Texture's look: deep green, pistachio and mint, her logo and her own fonts.

It's simple on purpose. A headline, a button to join and a short form, then a "You're on the list!" screen with what happens next and links to her socials.

Because most visitors arrive from TikTok and Instagram, the signup form sits high on the first screen on a phone, so nobody has to scroll to find it. Gentle animations and a moving wave line give it some life, and they switch off for anyone who has reduced motion turned on.

Chantelle sent through several rounds of changes to the wording and design, and I turned each one round quickly, right up to launch.

Signups

Signups that look after themselves

  • A personal Early Access number for everyone who joins. Sign up twice and you keep your original number.
  • Straight into her email platform, Brevo, ready for her launch emails.
  • A backup copy of every signup kept separately, so nobody is lost if something goes wrong.
  • Spam protection on the form, so the list stays clean.
  • Proper consent. A clear opt-in tickbox, the time of consent recorded and an unsubscribe link in every email.
  • A notification for Chantelle every time someone new joins.

Before launch I cleared out all the test data and reset the numbering, so the first real person to join was #1.

Email

A welcome email that matches the page

The moment someone joins, a welcome email lands in their inbox. I designed it in her brand colours so going from the page to the inbox feels like one experience.

It greets them by name, shows their Early Access number and has buttons to follow her on Instagram and TikTok. A "send a friend" note at the bottom helps the list grow on its own, and her company details and unsubscribe link sit in the footer. It's built to display properly in email apps on phones and computers.

The welcome email: their name, their Early Access number and the same look as the page.
Launch

Switching over without touching her email

To move her domain from Wix to the new page, I changed only the two records that point to the website. Her Google email and its security records were left exactly as they were, so her email kept working throughout the switch.

The site is secured with HTTPS, and anyone typing the address without the "www" lands in the right place.

It runs on Brevo's free plan and simple hosting, so there's no monthly platform fee for the page while she builds her audience. When the Shopify shop is ready, it's straightforward to hand over or build on.

The result

Where it stands

The early access page is live on crownandtexture.co.uk, collecting signups ahead of the shop launch in early 2027.

I'll add the signup numbers here as the list grows.
