Website Design for Local Businesses A website that actually brings the work in.
Hand-built websites for trades and local businesses, designed for phones first and written around what your customers search for. I build it, host it and look after it, so you only ever have one person to call.
5 stars on Google

A website that turns visitors into calls
Most people find you on Google, tap through on their phone and give your site a few seconds. If it loads slowly, is hard to read or doesn't say what you do and where, they go back and ring the next business on the list. You never hear about the job you missed.
Beth runs Our Cleaning Company in Aylesbury. After her new website and Google profile went live she got 21 Google reviews in two weeks, and enquiries went "through the roof". She's since taken on extra staff to keep up.
Read Beth's storyI'm Jak, based in Stewkley. I design, write and build every site myself, then host it and look after it, so you only ever have one person to call. The website is yours at the end, and monthly payment options are there if that's easier.

- 01
Designed for phones first
Most of your visitors are on a phone, so that's where I start. Big buttons, short pages and your number one tap away.
- 02
Written with you
I write the words with you, so the site sounds like you and uses the phrases your customers type into Google.
- 03
Built to load quickly
Pages that open fast on a phone signal. Speed matters to Google, and to someone standing on their driveway deciding who to call.
- 04
Set up for Google
Titles, descriptions, page structure and a page for each main service, so Google understands what you do and where you do it.
- 05
Enquiries that reach you
Call, WhatsApp and quote buttons where people look for them, with form messages going straight to your inbox.
- 06
Yours to keep
The domain is in your name, and the site is yours once it's paid for. I host it and look after it for £49 a month.
Already got a site? I'll go through it with you and tell you honestly whether it needs fixing or replacing.

A website I rebuilt

MH Auto Services
MH Auto Services has been repairing cars in Milton Keynes for 40 years, but its old website was flagged "Not secure" by browsers. I rebuilt it around how Martin actually runs the garage, secure and built for phones, with the 40 years front and centre.
“He listened very carefully to our approach to running our business, then translated that brilliantly into a website.”

DA Aesthetics
From one homepage to 23 pages, with a page for every treatment and every nearby town.
“Thank you for knowing what to do. I appreciate your patience and all your hard work, looking forward to seeing it up and running.”

Book a free callHow much does a small business website cost?
Every website is quoted to your business after a free call. They start from £899 for a two-page site, and most businesses I work with go for a premium site from £1,599, because it gets you found as well as looking good. You can pay half to start and half before launch, or spread the cost monthly. After an upfront build, hosting and care is £49 a month.
How long does a website take?
Most sites take 1 to 3 weeks from the first call. What usually holds things up is waiting on photos and details, so I keep the list of what I need from you short.
Do I own my website?
Yes. You own the site and the domain. On a monthly plan it's yours once the 24 months are paid, and you can pay off the balance early whenever you like.
Do you write the words?
Yes. I write them with you after our first call, so they sound like you and use the phrases people search for. You can change anything before it goes live.
Can I update the website myself?
If you'd like to, I'll set that up and show you how. Most clients would rather send me a message and let me do it, which is what the care plan covers.
I already have a website. Can you fix it instead?
Sometimes a fix is the better option, and I'll tell you if it is. On the free call we'll go through what's working, what isn't and what each route would cost.
What should I ask a web designer before I hire one?
Whose name the domain will be in, what the monthly fee covers, whether you can leave and take the site with you, and how many rounds of changes are included. I've written up the 12 questions I'd ask, with my own answers.
Do you work outside Milton Keynes?
Yes. I'm based in Stewkley and meet businesses across Milton Keynes, Beds and Bucks in person. Further afield, we do it all over video calls.
